Congratulations on your up and coming wedding. At SIFA Events, we are thrilled to have hosted so many weddings over our years in operation. On this note, our clients have brought to our attention these three things to think about before selecting your DJ. The topic surrounding DJ choice is worth writing about because, without SIFA Events, brides have needed to bend over backward for their DJs unprofessionalism.
First and foremost SIFA Events would like to point out that all of our wedding DJs are the saviors from the unprofessional DJs that turn their brides upside down. Thank you for all our DJs for having your roster up to date, allowing brides to book last minute. Here are the three things that every bride should consider: does the DJ belong to a DJ Agency? How busy is the DJs schedule? How does the DJ mix?
Does the DJ belong to a DJ Agency?
The above question is important in asking before selecting your DJ. It has been the disaster story of lots of brides when the hired DJ cancels their attendance. Just have a look at the staggering number of brides asking for help inside Wedding Wire. If the DJ does not belong to a DJ Agency, chances are they are a one-man band and would not have the proper backup when a cancellation occurs.
How busy is the DJs schedule?
One of our brides had come to us following the disappointment from a DJs disinterest in preparing entertainment to their needs. If you ask and find that the DJ has a busy schedule around your wedding then chances are you’ll be in cue waiting beside everyone else. Waiting, delays and miscommunication can be very frustrating; especially if you require extra time or have a busy schedule yourself.
How does the DJ mix?
Damage is already done when learning of your DJs mixing method live on their performance. According to Martha Stewart, the music entertainment you select for your wedding or party is responsible for 80% of the events’ success and the memories you will have for the rest of your life.
If a DJ does not live mix between the songs they choose, subconsciously your guests will be thrown off dancing without even knowing why. To find out more about the two kinds of mixing check out our previous blog here.
